Gowan Bank Farm Cottage is situated on a working farm set in 350 acres of picture perfect countryside. Close to the Lake District National Park hot spots of Windermere and Bowness, in the popular village of Ings.
This luxury cottage has been furnished with care and attention to detail by using the skills of local craftsmen. It boasts charm and authentic individuality and is a conversion of a former stable - with slate floors, Herdwick wool carpeting and internal stone walls. The open plan living room offers a cosy wood burner, perfect for a romantic evening in. The modern en-suite bathroom offers a freestanding roll-top bath and high quality fixtures and fittings. There are beautiful views over the farmland to woodland and, out of the bedroom windows, to the Langdales and Coniston Old Man.
Gowan Bank Farm Cottage can be booked together with Stone Barn Farm Cottage to accommodate up to 6 guests.

Can we bring pets?
We are happy to accommodate working dogs that live outside.
Can we get involved with the farm?
There are always chickens to feed. At certain times of year it is possible to meet with or help with the animals. Lambing time usually starts in mid-March. Calving time is from April onwards.
Are children welcome?
This cottage is only really suitable for a couple with an infant or one parent and child (comfortable camp bed available on request).
Do we need a car?
Most guests bring a car, however we are only a short taxi ride from Windermere and it is under three hours from London Euston to Windermere Station. We are half a mile from the A591 which is a main bus route through the Lakes.
